I love to draw! Pixel art is my favourite, but I still enjoy traditional (on paper) and digital (with a tablet) art. Most of the art I make nowadays are used for my creative hobby projects (mostly game projects!) so I have a lot of fun drawing what I want and I learn new skills in creating art all the time. I hope that my practice has helped me be creative in making figures for my dissertations, web design, and being generally creative and organised. I'm not a professionally trained artist, I'm self-taught (with a lot of help on Instagram and YouTube) so I've had to learn how to use a variety of programs myself. FireAlpaca is a great free drawing program which I use for my digital and pixel art.
I like to try lots of different creative outlets. Sewing, crochet, creative writing, game design, web design, jewellery making, and more I am currently practicing when I get the chance. I don't care if I'm "good" at it or not, I just like trying!
Making games with RPG Maker utilises a lot of these creative skills. I often have many projects on at once, but recently of the last two years I have been very focused on one particular project which I am very excited for people to see and play when it's finally in a good state. Obviously making a game takes a lot of time and energy, so I keep finding parts to do which push back development by quite a while. My first finished games were very amateurish (since I'm also completely self-taught with RPG Maker) but I believe I have gotten a lot better at making games over the 8 or so years I've been using the program. I recommend everyone tries it -- RPG Maker is simple enough for a beginner! Hopefully soon I'll have published this big project I'm working on and I can finally relax for a bit.
